Litigation Friends

Every protected party must have a litigation friend to conduct proceedings on her behalf: r.21.2(1). Every child must have a litigation friend unless the court permits her to conduct proceedings without one: r.21.2(2), (3) and (4). A person acting as a litigation friend for a protected party or a child during court proceedings has to be complete and sign a form called 'Certificate of suitability of litigation friend' through which they confirm 'they're able to 'conduct proceedings on behalf of the above named person competently and fairly'
