English term or phrase: Stressful countertransference dynamics are manifest in the therapist’s capacity
Dear colleagues,
I’m not sure about the meaning of “Stressful countertransference dynamics are manifest in the therapist’s capacity to recognize and utilize the sensory and affective qualities of imagery that the patient generates in the psychotherapist”, taken from the passage below about the transference-countertransference dynamics. As far as I know, "manifest" means “evident”, but I find it difficult to understand its meaning in this context....
Thank you so much for any suggestion!

*****************************************************
*** Stressful countertransference dynamics are manifest in the therapist’s capacity to recognize and utilize the sensory (visual, auditory, tactile, kinesthetic, and olfactory) and affective qualities of imagery that the patient generates in the psychotherapist.*** In heightened affective moments of the treatment, these interpersonal stressors perturb the therapeutic alliance, bringing back into consciousness autobiographical developmental ruptures of the attachment bond and early dysregulated intense affective states such as fear, aggression, loss and despair, and shame. Thus, through transference-countertransference transactions the dyadic therapeutic relationship can jointly process reenactments of early stress-related attachment dynamics, including highly dysregulated states of relational trauma.
