I received a job offer in my first week of joining!

I found ProZ.com quite useful initially (the term search, KudoZ, the glossaries, etc.), but it really came into its own when I became a paying member. Now, nearly all of my jobs come through my ProZ.com profile, and through repeat requests from regular clients, and I can't remember the last time I actually bid for a job.

The Blue Board is extremely useful for filtering out undesirable clients (bad/slow payers) - a feature that is only available to full members, but it is worth its weight in gold.

It has always been very useful for me. I would recommend anyone to join ProZ.com. I got there some of my most exciting jobs. I even became a supplier for interpreting services for a very big multinational through ProZ.com.

I have obtained and *kept* 11 clients.

When I started freelancing almost ten years ago, I used a variety of methods to reach out to potential clients. I placed an ad in the local yellow pages (no lead whatsoever), I sent out hundreds of emails to translation agencies (this landed me a couple of jobs), but by far the most efficient way of promotion was using the features that are available on ProZ.com.

I would certainly recommend becoming a paying member at ProZ.com. I started with a free membership, but I have had much more work since I decided to invest in ProZ.com membership. Now I don't have any delay before quoting for a "private" job posting, I have access to the LWA of every outsourcer on the Blue Board, and I can meet fellow translators via the site or at a powwow.

I have acquired 60% of the total number of my clients via ProZ.com. The site is extremely efficient and is visited by serious outsourcers. Therefore, I will stay with the site!

Paid membership at ProZ.com has been a good investment in the last 1-2 years. Several agencies have contacted me with offers, some of which I have taken up.

This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one. Sites like ProZ.com work for you 24 hours, even when you sleep. ProZ.com landed me two regular end clients, and I got many other jobs, not to speak about digital exposure. I ask all my clients how they found me and why they selected me, and not someone else. The answer is always the same: my online activity, especially in terminology help, translation contests, etc… ProZ.com alone offers more than 50 features that can help you create yourself and your brand. The sooner you start, the sooner you will start earning experience and money.

In 3 years as a Proz member I have got quite a lot of work through having a profile here. That's the keyword: p r o f i l e.
