Does Trados (or a plugin) have a feature that can help to find inconsistent spellings of individual words? For example, imagine that a word appears 250 times in a text spelled one way and then 2 times spelled another way. Obviously the 2 times are likely to be misspellings. An alphabetical list of every word in a text, accompanied by a frequency count, is a powerful tool for finding errors like this but is very time consuming. What is this? I have never seen anything that fits this description. Can't you use the regular F7 option? Probably you can give an example to clarify your situation?

Just tested the macro and it works fine:
So where to go from here?
Enhance the macro to process only the target language column. Make your corrections directly to the generated table. Enhance the macro to apply the manual corrections to the target language column of the whole bilingual file. Import this corrected bilingual file in Trados.

2022 (perhaps also a few editions earlier) has an advanced search module, where you can apply a REGEX filter on both source and target; this shall solve problem quickly. If your version does not have it, you can still apply REGEX filter to exclusive either source or target; if you are aware of how misspelled strings look, you may apply REGEX that filters only for the wrong versions in one go.

You can create such a list quickly and easily using a text concordance tool, like the excellent (and free) AntConc AntConc, or the Simple Concordance Program (also free).
The procedure for both programs is similar: you save your translation to a text (.txt) file, open it in the concordance program, and create a word list. Once you have learned the basic usage of the concordance program, the whole process just takes a few minutes.
